Cliff Diving

Yes, I'm blogging now.....I know, I know. Don't judge me. I just finished watching "Julie & Julia" and it kind of inspired me to start writing out my random thoughts. Cute movie, by the way...you should watch it when you have a spare rainy day like today.

Thoughts for today? Yes, let's go.

So I've been t
hinking a lot about possibilities lately and how I could pack up everything today and just go somewhere. Anywhere. And it would all be okay. Now if you know me well you will realize that these are crazy thoughts for ME to be having. But I'm young, right?

Now after having these thoughts for the past weekish, God's been stirring desires in me to actually follow through with these th
oughts. Or to be open to the possibilities He could write for me. Being open to jumping off some high cliffs. *gasp*

I know we all talk about how we are "open to what God has for us"....but honestly, are you? I'm not. But I'm closer to complete surrender than I was 2 seconds ago. What if God told you to drop everything and go live in a country where Christians are put to death, where you don't know a single person, and where you might not like the food? I think I would cry for a long time if God told me that. Especially if it meant having to eat Chinese food. Nasty stuff, sorry.

This past Monday I was having a deep spiritual conversation with one of my very best friends, in this conversation we were talking about how we were created for much bigger things than we know. We came to the conclusion that in life there is a point where you can choose to go one way or the other (Remember that awful movie that Brittany Spears was in? "Crossroads"). Now, most people think one way is right and the other is wrong. Nope, that is a myth. What I believe is that down one road is a comfortable life, a routine, nice family, a good life. But what if God had much more for you down the other road? Maybe the road has more potholes and time-consuming country roads, but wouldn't it be worth it? As Frost would put it, the road " less traveled".

What if you said "God, I trust You and I know You ARE good. I believe You have better things for my life, so I will go where You say to go."?

What if you went cliff diving with God? He doesn't say "You jump, I'll jump". God says "You jump, I'll be with you and catch you. All I ask is that you trust me during the fall."

"As for me, I am in your hands; do with me whatever you think is good and right."
- Jer. 26: 14
